Tour Description

This rich, rural landscape provides all the ingredients for the chefs to show you how to rustle up mouth watering local dishes. Tuscan fare is simple but hearty and bursting with flavour: from ribollita, a hearty vegetable stew, to chunky Tuscan bread soup and rustic pasta dishes such as pici, a thick spaghetti with wild boar or rabbit sauce. For a break from the kitchen, explore the charming alleys of medieval Siena, one of Italy’s best preserved medieval towns. Built on three hills and surrounded by medieval walls, take in the stunning Duomo, preserved Gothic architecture and, of course, the famous Piazza del Campo – one of the world’s most unique piazzas. For a change of pace there is also the charming town of Arezzo, boasting its Piazza Grande, perhaps a good opportunity to tuck into a classic bistecca alla fiorentina, a char grilled T-bone steak washed down with a good Chianti. Accommodation is in a selection of lovely villas: imagine honey-coloured farmhouses with beamed ceilings, shuttered windows opening onto sweeping views, stone-flagged floors and huge welcoming kitchens. They all have private pools, en suite rooms and that essential soporific hum of cicadas as you relax with a bottle of wine under the trees.

Day 1:

Pisa – Tuscany countryside Transfer from Pisa airport or make your own way to the villa for welcome drinks on the terrace followed by dinner prepared by the resident chef. (D) 


Day 2:

Tuscany countryside After breakfast, first cookery lesson with the chef, enjoying the results for lunch. Afternoon is at leisure. Dinner is prepared at the villa. (B,L,D) 


Day 3:

Tuscany countryside Morning cookery lesson, lunch and then visit a local winery for a wine tasting. Return to the villa for dinner prepared by the chef. (B,L,D) 


Day 4:

Siena After breakfast, a day to enjoy sight seeing or shopping in Siena at leisure. Lunch will be at a trattoria. Return to the villa for dinner. (B) 


Day 5:

Tuscany countryside Another cookery lesson this morning. The afternoon is at leisure to relax by the pool or walk through the olive groves. Dinner tonight is at the villa. (B,L,D) 


Day 6:

Arezzo This morning is your fourth cookery lesson, followed by lunch. Afternoon visit to Arezzo with a chance to explore before dinner at a local restaurant. (B,L,D) 


Day 7:

Tuscany countryside Final cookery lesson and lunch. Enjoy your afternoon relaxing at the villa and in the evening a farewell dinner. (B,L,D) 


Day 8:

Tuscany countryside – Pisa Tour ends after breakfast with a transfer to Pisa airport. (B)
