It is possible to participate in a shorter version of this tour starting in Catania on day 2 (excluding the Cefalu and Catania tours) and ending in Palermo on day 8. Please ask us for details. 



ITINERARY

Day 1 Palermo
Arrive and make your own way to the hotel. Welcome cocktail and dinner. (D)

Day 2 Palermo – Cefalu – Catania
Travel to the coastal town of Cefalu, home to a breathtaking Norman Cathedral with dazzling mosaics. Proceed to Catania, known for its original Baroque style and streets built with black lava  tone from Mount Etna, and enjoy a walking tour. (B,D)

Day 3 Catania – Siracusa – Noto – Catania 
Depart to Siracusa, the most beautiful Greek colony of Sicily. Visit the archaeological park and the island of Ortigia. In the afternoon, proceed to Noto, renowned for its Baroque style. (B,D)

Day 4 Catania – Mount Etna – Taormina – Catania
Weather permitting, enjoy an excursion to Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe, for spectacular panorama over the Ionian Sea. Stop at the village of Zafferana Etnea, the city of honey, for a honey tasting. Continue to Taormina, the pearl of the Ionian Sea, for some leisure time. (B,L,D)

Day 5 Catania – Piazza Armerina – Agrigento 
Proceed to Piazza Armerina to visit the Villa Romana del Casale boasting the most complex collection of late Roman mosaics in the world. Continue to Agrigento, for a guided tour of the magnificent Valley of Temples. (B,L,D)

Day 6 Agrigento – Selinunte – Erice - Palermo
Visit the Archaeological Park of Selinunte, the largest in the Mediterranean area with the impressive Temples and Acropolis. Stop in a local farmhouse famous for olive oil tasting and lunch. Continue to the medieval town of Erice and walk through its winding lanes, inner courtyards and cobbled streets. Proceed to Palermo. (B,L,D)

Day 7 Palermo – Monreale – Palermo
Depart for Monreale to admire the cathedral with its mosaics. Continue with a panoramic tour of Palermo, one of the richest towns on the island for history and art. This afternoon is at leisure or take an optional excursion (extra cost) to Monte Pellegrino, the most famous mountain in Palermo, and explore Palermo’s most colourful market. (B,L,D)

Day 8 Palermo
Tour ends after breakfast. (B)
