Tour Description

With an accent on genuine flavours, activities often include seasonal ventures into wild food foraging, truffle hunting, cheese or wine making or oil pressing according to the time of year. Day 1:

Foligno – Montefalco Morning transfer from Foligno station. After lunch visit Montefalco for a wine tasting. A four course dinner including wine is at the accommodation every evening. (L,D)

Day 2:

Deruta This morning prepare a modern version of traditional Umbrian fare and then dine in the delightful garden terrace. Afternoon visit to Deruta, a major ceramics centre since medieval times. (B,L,D)

Day 3:

Orvieto Today is market day. Meet the chef while he purchases ingredients for the cooking class and enjoy lunch at a renowned restaurant, where you will work through the full four courses of a regional menu. Time at leisure in the afternoon to explore. (B,L,D)

Day 4:

Montefalco This morning make ravioli and other traditional pastas with a renowned local cook. In the afternoon visit a range of local wine cellars for tastings of Montefalco's full bodied red. (B,L,D)

Day 5:

Bevagna Travel into the hills to a local estate for a private cooking session in an elegant home with a fascinating garden. In the afternoon enjoy a guided visit through the nearby town of Bevagna and time to stroll the streets or sit in the piazza with a campari. (B,L,D)

Day 6:

Spoleto Accompany a professional truffle hunter in his quest for truffles or ‘black gold’. Enjoy a simple meal of wine, bruschetta, pasta and truffles in the hunter's home and then visit the town of Spoleto. (B,L,D)

Day 7:

Foligno Morning transfer to Foligno station. (B)
