Italo rail travel in Italy

Italy has recently welcomed its first private high speed rail operator: Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori or NTV. 

NTV offer services on the main domestic routes under the name of Italo featuring modern trains and high standards of service. NTV was founded by four successful entrepreneurs of the Italian luxury industry and provides competition to the exiting Trenitalia rail system in Italy. 

Italo connects 12 main stations in 9 Italian Cities - Turin, Milan, Bologna, Florence, Rome, Salerno, Padua and Venice.

Orient Express

In addition to the above Europe Rail travel options CIT also offers rail journeys aboard the Venice Simplon Orient Express – undeniably the world’s most famous train. 

Journey to or from Italy in classic style on this magnificent train. As you travel through the changing landscapes of Europe you will be surrounded by the lavish décor of each antique rail car and your own cabin accommodation. On the English section of your journey you are allocated a reserved restaurant seat in one of the British Pullman carriages. Once on the Continental train in Europe you will have your own allocated private compartment equipped with wash basin cabinet. By day the compartment has seating, by night these are converted to two beds (upper and lower). All table d’hote meals are included in the price. An a la carte menu and additional snacks and beverages are available at additional cost.
